What’s new.

   Oh, No!!  I’m using a trial copy of RawDeveloper and the darn watermark is showing.  I will add that I really like working with RD.  I have to decide what to do.

Well, overt the past whatever amount of time, I’ve had a lot going on.  Seeing doctors, getting appointments to see more doctors.  But the treatment scheme is moving apace.  All of this is good news, even though it’s a bit scary.  In addition I’ve done a major upgrade of my computer system.  I’m using a Mac Pro now, I’ve changed cpu platform.  So of course all my old software is useless.  Most notably PhotoShop.  One can’t simply buy the upgrade kit because you can’t upgrade a none existent copy, but there seems to be way to do. I’m just pondering if I want to go through the hassle.  Or simply start over with an entirely new approach.  RD seems/is quite nice but it’s strictly raw processing, no printing support.  So I need something else.

New Header

I just added a new header and found the color  to be kinda drab.  The original profile was Abode 1998. I’ve heard that this profile is not as ‘colorful’ when viewed on the web, but I’ve never seen it happen.  I use Safari on a Mac which is color managed.  Does this mean I’ll have to mess with my pictures to make them look ‘right’ in WordPress? Don’t know.  Here’s an experiment.

If you click on either image, you will open the image in new screen.  On my Mac both of the images look the same.  Safari is responding to the embedded profile.  Curiously, in the WordPress editor both images look the same!!

What I’ve been up to

By way of background, I had a tonsil removed on the 5th of November.  The tonsil was malignant.  So now I’m being treated by a neck and head cancer team.  Needless to say I’m terrified.  My ENT (Ear, Nose, &Throat)  doctor made his diagnosis on a first visit which was 10 days before the surgery.  Surgery itself went well.  I had a meeting with the team yesterday and so now it’s a bunch of appointments to get me ready for a regimen of chemo and radiation.  The radiation is the primary treatment with the chemo acting in a supporting role.  I’ll know more over the course of the next week or so.  And I’ll keep writing about it.

But I also plan to continue with the photographing as well.

My First Post

This is like my first day at school.  I want this to be photo blog more than a writing blog.  I don’t think of myself as a writer, but as a photographer.  In fact I have quote about that which I’ll have to dig up and include in the masthead or somewhere.

Indeed a theme that I’ll be working out is put the work out there as is.  The pictures I take are just that.  I had a great piece of phrasing for this, now I’ve lost it.  But I’ll keep at it.
